Brown Rice: Whole Grain
Brown/red rice is unpolished whole grain, milled to remove the hull from the kernel but retain the rice bran layer and the germ. This gives it a nutty flavor and a chewy texture. This variety also has a lower glycemic index; it’s also more nutritious because the bran is rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber.
